Salary Range: £30,000 – £55,000 (dependent on role and experience)

We are growing our Industrial Disease team and are looking for legal professionals at various levels to join us in Birmingham. These roles are ideal for those who are passionate about litigation and seeking to specialise or advance within the industrial disease space.

Positions Available

Assistant Lawyer – Industrial Disease
You will support senior lawyers with large-scale litigation involving a wide range of disease-related claims.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Reviewing documentation and preparing draft advice
• Assisting in case strategy and litigation planning
• Conducting legal research and preparing instructions to counsel and experts
• Attending internal meetings and producing case notes
• Handling document disclosure, correspondence, and general litigation support tasks

Assistant to Partner – Industrial Disease
You will work closely with a Partner, providing delegated support on complex industrial disease cases.
Typical daily tasks involve:

• Drafting court documents and managing timetables
• Attending hearings (including telephone advocacy where appropriate)
• Analysing medical and factual evidence
• Liaising with experts and preparing case bundles
• Recording progress and assisting with reporting and case MI

Lead Fee Earner – Industrial Disease
You will manage your own caseload of primarily NIHL and other disease claims while also mentoring junior staff.
Your key responsibilities include:

• Taking full responsibility for progressing and resolving files
• Investigating liability and gathering evidence, including witness statements
• Instructing and liaising with medical experts and counsel
• Attending conferences and court appointments
• Supporting junior team members through coaching and supervision

Assistant Fee Earner – Industrial Disease
This role supports more experienced fee earners with case preparation and progression.
Your tasks will include:

• Reviewing records and drafting basic documentation
• Supporting with disclosure, correspondence, and evidence gathering
• Assisting with hearing preparations and scheduling
• Performing administrative case management duties
• Developing legal skills and knowledge under guidance from senior colleagues

What We’re Looking For

The specific requirements vary by role, but generally we are seeking candidates who have:

• A legal qualification or equivalent litigation/claims handling experience
• An understanding of industrial disease claims (NIHL, HAVS, etc.)
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• The ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines
• Confidence in written and verbal communication
• A collaborative and proactive approach to work
