My client is an energy efficiency (retrofit) service for housing portfolios. We combine software and on-site services to offer an integrated advisory and delivery service to Housing Associations, Local Authorities, institutional private asset owners, and private landlords. We are the largest player of our kind in the UK, supporting over 15,000 homes a year today. We are a growing team, with big ambitions and growth targets.
Overview:
This role focuses on strengthening my client presence and partnerships within the retrofit and housing decarbonisation sector. The Account Executive will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships with key stakeholders — including local authorities, housing associations, and industry bodies — while actively representing my client's at sector events and forums. They will advocate for my client services and digital solutions, identify new opportunities and partnerships, and contribute to account growth through effective cross-selling and collaboration. A key aspect of the role is staying ahead of market developments, funding streams, and policy changes to inform business strategy and support my client's position as a trusted industry leader.
This role reports to Business Development Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Revenue generation: Responsible for closing deals, expanding on existing relationships as well as closing new business.
Relationship development: Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, housing associations, and industry bodies.
Networking & representation: Attend sector events, webinars, and roundtables to represent and promote our expertise in retrofit and housing decarbonisation.
Opportunity spotting: Identify upcoming frameworks, pilot projects, or partnership opportunities and feed them into the wider business development and delivery teams.
Account growth: Help existing clients understand the wider service offer to support cross-selling and long-term partnerships.
Market insight: Monitor sector trends, funding programmes, and policy developments and share insights with the team.
Collaborative working: Liaise with the marketing, technical, and delivery teams to ensure messaging and outreach activities are aligned.
Skills & Experience
Must have:
Demonstrable experience in sales, or account management of selling into housing associations and/or local authorities, on large enterprise contracts (deal size typical range £250k to £2mn)
Commercial hunger, drive and motivation to successfully close and win deals
Works well with a commission target and thrives under pressure
Existing strong network within housing associations, local authorities, or the property/retrofit sector
Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills
Strategic thinker with a results-driven, self-starter approach
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
Skilled at identifying market opportunities and navigating complex stakeholder environments
Nice to have
Knowledge of ECO4, GBIS, and wider government-backed energy schemes
Familiarity with retrofit technologies, renewable energy solutions, or home energy efficiency improvements
